THE FUTURE ROOTS TEAM
ABBIGAIL WEIGLE
Abbigail is a nonprofit professional with 10 years of experience in the
Wood River Valley, focused on fundraising, community partnerships, and
meaningful events that connect people to purpose. As Development &
Partnership Manager, she brings a passion for strengthening our community
connections and creating lasting impact to her work with Future Roots.
AMY MATTIAS
Amy Mattias is the Executive Director of Future Roots and holds a master’s
degree in Sustainable Food Systems. Her leadership helped launch the
Impact Idaho Fund, produce seven annual Locally Grown Guides, and advance
educational and engagement efforts that strengthened connections between
food producers and buyers across the region.
HANNAH HARRIS
Hannah first joined Future Roots as an intern in the summer of 2021. Since
then, her passion for understanding the intersection of environmental,
economic, and political systems has led her to a wider breadth of projects.
She leads SVIR student engagement initiatives including implementing
successful student-led composting programs in multiple area schools.
JUSTIN BUCKLEY
Justin’s journey has taken him from classrooms to conservation projects to
food startups—all bound by a passion for impact and innovation. At Future
Roots, he brings a wealth of operational and project leadership skills, thriving
in uncertainty and complex collaboration. His community roots run deep.
LYNDSEY MASON
Lyndsey was born and raised in the Wood River Valley. A daughter of two
chefs and restaurateurs, she spent much of her life embedded in culinary
spaces, developing a deep love for food, cooking, community, and local
food systems. With Future Roots, she uses her love of food and storytelling
to connect local restaurants, chefs, and farmers. Her work highlights the
many vibrant stories behind the food we eat and its importance in building a
resilient community.
MIKE GORDON
Mike joined Future Roots in 2019. He comes from a background working at the
intersection of business and community resilience. His roles have focused
on the positive impact organizations can have on the community fabric, the
local economy, and the environment. Since 2021, he has led the production of
the Wood River Valley’s Locally Grown Guide.
