WELCOME LETTER FROM AMY
W
elcome! You’re about to discover the farms, food
businesses, and organizations that shape the
Wood River Valley.
This guide empowers you to spend your food dollars
within our community. When you choose to support
the businesses in this Guide, your money goes directly
to your neighbors and friends, the people who share a
common interest in seeing our region thrive.
Right now, most of the food we eat is imported, while much of our farmland grows crops
that are exported. This system is draining our local economy and making our food supply
vulnerable to disruptions, creating uncertainty for farmers and consumers alike.
You have the power to change this. By picking up this Guide and supporting our local
businesses, you are choosing a food system that makes our local communities healthier,
more vibrant, and more resilient places to live.
Eat the change. The guide in your hands (or on your screen!) is your roadmap to eating
well and keeping your food dollars right here in Idaho—where you experience the benefits
with every bite.
Explore more at locallygrownguide.org or email locallygrown@futureroots.org
to get involved.
We believe that local food creates a lasting impact and together, we’re building
a food system that nourishes all of us. Thank you for sowing the seeds for a more
vibrant future.
