his year, you may notice something new about our listings. We’ve introduced a
simplified Locally Grown Designation that clearly reflects how each business
supports a vibrant regional food system.
This shift represents a more encompassing exploration of what it means to be “Locally
Grown.” Our revised criteria focus on where a business is rooted, how it participates in
Idaho’s agricultural economy, and what it offers to our local communities.
Our new graphics highlight businesses that demonstrate one or more of the following:

Our regional food system is evolving. Not every ingredient can be sourced in Idaho, and
not every business can check every box. That’s the reality of building a resilient food
economy in Idaho.
This classification celebrates commitment and momentum. Each rating acknowledges
the opportunity for collaboration, innovation, and investment. The new Locally Grown
Designation recognizes the contribution that each of the over 130 businesses featured in
this Guide is making to the health, well-being, and resilience of Idaho communities.
